The agreement seeks to establish a framework for policy dialogue, creating a platform for Zambia and Lithuania to strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

These areas include energy, infrastructure development, technology transfer, and military cooperation.

Haimbe commended the government of Lithuania for what he described as “genuine friendship” with Zambia, which has translated into various benefits for both countries.

“I wish to welcome the signing of this agreement and stated that the Zambian government remain’s committed to broadening the longstanding friendship through increased people-to-people exchanges and high-level visits,” he said.

Haimbe further noted that the establishment of a framework for policy dialogue would create “a viable platform for Zambia and Lithuania to consolidate bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest.”
